Give these chaps a rest. - Join the Passionists!

Okay. I’ll do it.
I presume “I’ll do it” means praying for the retreat rather than joining the chaps - or are you still on the Pink Martini? Hey, Berenike!
B, I deleted your second comment by mistake, instead of approving it. Sorry. It’s time I was sleeping.
’s okay. I should have been in bed too. And I should be now. You were quoting Cyril of Alexandria about the first time I met you, you no? (molesworth spelling)
This usually makes me very unpopular (for some reason I never learn my lesson though) BUT, maybe giving the “altar girls” a break will help to give these older chaps a break.
When I was 13/14 years old the parish where I was attending grade school started to have girl “cross bearers” (two altar boys and one “cross bearer” was supposed to be the norm) That lasted for about 4 months before the girls outnumbered the guys.
A few months later when my kid sister became an altar girl, I quit and never looked back.
Just a thought from a young fogey.
Simple Sinner,
We have sixteen altar servers of whom twelve are boys, so our girls must be less scary than the girls of Cincinnati.
Yeah., well, look what happened when Al Qaeda tried it on in Glasgow.
Still, “the sanctuary is where the men cook for the women”.
“We have sixteen altar servers of whom twelve are boys, so our girls must be less scary than the girls of Cincinnati.”
You would have to ask a Cincinattin! I hale from the “Snow Belt” portion (3.5 hours near due north) of the same state. I have said for years that lake effect snow and Eastern European immigrants made us a far hardier breed than our more southerly cousins.
Perhaps that was the issue!
It is not a huge battleground for me, though it is not allowed in my diocese.
I’d really like to know more about the Passionists. There was a book that came out a while ago, but I’ve forgotten the title. Thanks for the pointer to the link.
