Feast of the Presentation of Our Lady
21 November, 2006 by PF
Today’s feast is of particular significance to Passionists and is known among us as the “Birthday of the Congregation”. This painting of the Presentation of Mary in the Temple, by the eighteenth-century Neapolitan painter Sebastiano Conca, was commissioned by the Grazi family (through Cardinal Lorenzo Altieri) for Saint Paul of the Cross’s new Church of the Presentation on Monte Argentario. In Denver for church last Sunday, I happened to see this.
